The Posavac Hound is a scent hound from the Sava River Valley of Slovenia and Croatia — one of the Balkan hound breeds developed to hunt in the specific terrain of the Posavje region (flat, marshy river plains bordered by forested hills). It is gentle and friendly at home but a determined, vocal hunter in the field. One of the most ancient hound breeds of the former Yugoslavia.
