The Story
The German Longhaired Pointer is the longhaired member of the German Pointer family — completing the trio of German Shorthaired Pointer, German Wirehaired Pointer, and German Longhaired Pointer. Less well-known internationally than its shorthaired and wirehaired siblings, the Deutsch Langhaar is a versatile, gentle, all-purpose hunting dog. It has the same hunting abilities as the other German Pointers but with a more spaniel-like, flowing coat and a notably calmer, more patient temperament.
